About
Twelve years ago, I moved to Italy with a simple dream in my head. I thought I knew what I was doing – pack up, move over, start fresh. But when I arrived, the ground shifted. Here, things move slower, bureaucracy is an art form, and success is measured differently. Everything I thought I knew about how to build a life – from earning money to getting paperwork done – had to be unlearned. And don’t even get me started on the driver’s license.
Through the struggle, the pain, the joy, and the many sleepless nights, I’ve managed to build a life here. I bought a house. I found work. I lost friends and made new ones. I opened a business. I’ve cried from frustration and laughed at my own mistakes. I’ve experienced what it truly means to start over.
And through all of it, I learned something essential: you can’t avoid every challenge – but you can prepare for them.
That’s what I do now. I help others relocate with realistic expectations and cultural insight, so they don’t have to learn everything the hard way like I did. Because no, things won’t always go to plan. Your vision may not become reality – or worse, it does, and you realize it’s not what you wanted at all.
But with the right support and mindset, the transition can be smoother, more rewarding, and much less stressful.
If you’re ready to begin your Italian adventure and wondering what the first step is – I’ll tell you. It’s simple: securing your visa or citizenship, and getting your codice fiscale.
Let’s take it from there – together.

Relocation Services
Kristine Ripamonti takes the overwhelm out of relocation. We manage every step – housing, paperwork, healthcare, local registration, and more – so you can arrive in Italy ready to live, not just land. Thoughtful, thorough, and tailored to you.
1. Assistance with Residency
Help navigating the application for residency permits (permesso di soggiorno) and registration at the local town hall (anagrafe). This includes gathering the required documentation, booking appointments with the questura (immigration office), and following up on renewals or changes in status (e.g., family reunification, self-employment, EU/Non-EU status). It may also involve obtaining a codice fiscale (Italian tax code), which is essential for almost all legal and financial transactions.
2. Tessera Sanitaria (Health Insurance Card)
Support in applying for or renewing the tessera sanitaria, which allows access to the national healthcare system (SSN). This includes registering with a family doctor (medico di base), understanding co-payments (ticket), and knowing which services are covered. Assistance may be needed for expats in determining eligibility (especially non-EU), navigating regional health agencies (ASST/ATS), and translating documents.
Apartment Hunting (Including Utilities Setup)
Help finding long-term rentals through local agents or online platforms. Services may include:
• Viewing appointments
• Lease negotiation and translation
• Deposits and registration of lease (contratto registrato)
Once rented, assistance can include setting up:
• Electricity (Enel, Edison, etc.)
• Gas
• Water
• WiFi/Internet (TIM, Vodafone, etc.)
• Garbage tax registration (TARI)
• Managing utility name transfers and dealing with bills
2 Feet On The Ground
